Serene Vest Knitting Pattern
The Serene Vest is a crew neck, slightly oversized vest with deep armholes and a fitted waist. The relaxed silhouette and sleek waistband that fits the body create a more three-dimensional piece that plays on the basic design. There are two different waistband options: A double-knitted band or a twisted rib band.

Required Techniques: cable cast on, knitting flat, purling flat, stockinette stitch, 1x1 twisted rib, increasing, decreasing, sewing, double knitting, ribbing, picking up stitches, binding off.

The vest is knitted using one strand of any Aran-/Worsted-weight yarn.
- Approx amounts: 300 (300) (300) 300 (350) 350 (350) 350g of We Are Knitters, The Baby Wool, 50g/112m
Yarn Alternatives: Malabrigo Rios, Malabrigo Merino Worsted, Noro Madara, Cascade 220
Suggested Needles:
- 3.5mm [US 4] circular needles (40-80cm/16-32" in length)
- 5mm [US 8] circular needles (40-80cm/16-32" in length)
Extra Tools: Stitch markers, stitch holders or extra yarn, tape measure, scissors, and a tapestry needle (for weaving in ends).
Gauge (after blocking):
- In stockinette stitch on 5mm [US 8] circular needles: 18 sts / 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4"].
- In twisted rib stitch on 3.5mm [US 4] circular needles: 20 sts / 46 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4"].
