    The Romanesco Jumper is a three-dimensional spike-textured fitted jumper that can be worked in four different ways. The pattern for this jumper is created on the inside of your work and is worked bottom up.

    Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

    Required Techniques: cast on, stockinette, chart reading, double increases, double decreases, picking up stitches, bind off, knitting in the round, magic loop.

    8 sizes (see size guide) - XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL). Ranti wears a size M.

    The Romanesco Jumper is designed to be fitted with a negative ease of 5cm/2” at the chest. The measurements for the finished top can be found on the second page of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the correct gauge is maintained throughout).

    The jumper is knitted using one strand of any DK-weight yarn. NOTE! The jumper can be worked in many different ways: with long sleeves, short sleeves or no sleeves, and with a cropped body or a full-length body.

    • Approx amounts for long sleeves, full-length body: 650 (700) 750 (800) 850 (900) 950 (1000)g of Drops Extra Fine Merino, 50g/105m.
    • Approx amounts for long sleeves, cropped body: 450 (500) 550 (600) 650 (700) 750 (750)g of King Cole Merino Blend DK, 50g/105m. 
    • Approx amounts for short sleeves, cropped body: 200 (225) 275 (325) 375 (425) 475 (525)g of Malabrigo Arroyo, 100g/306m. 
    • Approx amounts for short sleeves, full-length body: 300 (350) 400 (450) 500 (550) 600 (650)g of Malabrigo Arroyo, 100g/306m.

    Suggested Needles: 4mm [US 6] circular needles (40-100cm/16-40")

    Extra Tools: Tapestry needle (to weave in ends), tape measure, scissors, and stitch markers.

    Gauge (after blocking):

    • In 2x2 rib on 4mm [US 6] needles: 19 sts / 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4"]
    • In basic pattern on 4mm [US 6] needles: 30 sts / 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4"]
